In May, a White gunman walked into a supermarket in a historically African American community, killing 10 people. Last month, the Blizzard of ’22 claimed 42 lives in Buffalo and its environs. Now the city is grappling with a grievous injury to a player on its beloved Buffalo Bills. The collective pain is almost too much to bear. And yet, it’s the kind of adversity Buffalonians are well rehearsed in dealing with, writes Sharon Bailey.
